The Biography & Social Development Trust has been established to serve individual development and social renewal by providing a forum for training, research and exchange in the field of biographical counselling, biography work and the human encounter out of the perspective of Anthroposophy.
The Trust runs and supports the Diploma Course in Biographical Counselling, ensuring that its accredited status with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) is maintained. It aims to foster the development of biographical counselling alongside other schools of counselling and psychotherapy and thereby extend its arena and influence. The Trust also runs professional development courses and open courses for the general public on social and therapeutic themes.
The Biography and Social Development Trust works in close collaboration with the Professional Association of Biographical Counsellors (PABC). The PABC is a professional body formed with the aim of promoting professional development, research and research capacity of biographical counsellors in dialogue with the wider counselling psychotherapeutic professions in the UK.
“Every experience of our lives contains the mystery of our whole existence. It is a crystallisation, a condensation of past and future, of what we have been, and what we can become.” M. Matthews.
